More and more Polish airports finance their investments with European funds.
Recently, the airport in Gdańsk has gained the funds for the extension from the European Investment Bank. The airport in Wrocław is also waiting for the final decisions regarding this matter.
In Gdańsk, the range of the modernization and the extension of the airport is estimated at 367 million PLN (more than 91 million Euros), and the works are planned to be finished at the beginning of 2012. The airport in Wrocław has estimated its investment at 412 million PLN (approximately 103 million Euros). The new terminal, which will have been built by 2011, is supposed to attend 2 million passengers more that the present one, which waits on 1.2 million passengers per year.

Plenty of the investments that are being held at the moment are related to the UEFA EURO 2012. UEFA has clearly described its requirements related to the service of the supporters that will travel by airplanes.
