The DRAGADOS company is building a new stretch of the A1 motorway

By the end of 2011 Spanish company, DRAGADOS, will have built more than 20 kilometers of a new stretch of the A1 motorway  between Zabrze Maciejów and Piekary Śląskie (Silesia region).

The construction will begin this month. The foreseen budget for the stretch is 1,259 billions PLN. By the end of 2011 the whole stretch from the Czech border to an airport in Katowice – Pyrzowice should be passable.

The stretch built by the DRAGADOS company is one of the most expensive in Poland, mainly because of the construction of 14 kilometers of bidirectional three – lane motorway and because of the protection against the effects of the coal exploitation.  The mine excavation, bridges and embankments have to be fortified.
