The construction market in Poland and Europe

According to the Polish Central Statistical Office, construction and assembly production in Poland rose by 10.7 % in July on an annual basis, whereas in June 2009, the construction production in UE countries decreased by 3.3 % in comparison with June 2008. Unfortunately, the rate of decrease of production in Europe is still periodically growing.

In comparison with May, in June 2009 the construction production grew just in four countries: Romania (+9.3%), Bulgaria (+1.5%), Poland (+1.2 %) and the Czech Republic (+1%). The highest decrease was observed in Sweden (-3.8%), Portugal (-3.3) and Slovakia (-2%).

In comparison with June 2008, the production grew in Germany and Poland, respectively by
1.2 % and 0.6%. The highest decreases were observed in the construction in Sweden (- 16,6 %), Slovenia (-15,8 %)  and Spain (-12,6 %).
