2011-02-15 13:18:41

The plans for the year 2011 include the execution of 30 investments in the Katowice Special Economic Zone Co. (original: Katowicka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna - KSSE) worth about 1 billion of PLN, which will generate about a thousand new jobs.

Last year, 2010, the Zone acquired 23 new investment projects worth nearly 830 millions of PLN which gave employment to approximately 900 people. In total, the Zone managed to create over 3000 new jobs.

Among 180 companies operating in the Zone almost 50 represent the automotive industry. They execute about 60% of total investments across the zone.

Companies investing in the zone can count on subsidy of about 40% of all costs borne by the investor. In the year 2010 the Zone increased its surface by 1/4 to more than 1900 ha, and thus it became the largest Polish economic zone. This year it is planned to extend the area of the Zone by including, among others, the area of Bielsko - Biała.
