Foreign investments create new jobs in Poland

According to the Polish Information And Foreign Investment Agency about 40 thousand jobs will be created within the next few years in Poland.

The estimated value of the investments reaches 5.6 billion euro. The foreign companies invest most in services, automotive and electric industry. Most of them come from USA and also from UK and France. There has been noticed a considerable growth in investments carried out by companies from Far East and investors from European countries apart from German investors whose activity in Poland has dropped significantly in comparison to the last year. 

The year 2010 has already brought new investments made in Poland, among others there is a UniCredit’s Group BPO centre for Germany, Austria and Poland in Szczecin, which will give workplaces for about 435 people. 

A Korean Samsung invested 6.6 million euro in ICT research and development centre while Husqvarna, Sweden company, invested 20 million euro in a new factory in Mielec. Among other investments there are a Korean Fuel-Tech production plant of plastic equipment for cars opened in Żory and Roche’s research and development centre in Poznan. Also an Italian company, Lampre  Group, invested almost 24 million euro in a new plant producing metal parts for household goods in Kutno. 

Development of a new wireless telecommunication will be carried out by Nokia and Siemens companies in the new IT centre which is worth 2.8 million euro. The investment will give an employment for approximately 400 jobs in Wroclaw.

Among foreign companies that invested in Poland in 2009 that were supported by the agency there are Shell, IBM, Cadbury, Volkswagen, Fujitsu and Bosh. The value of all 36 investments made last year reaches 887.2 million euro.
